What it does
Crops the card for you
Your phone finds the edges of the card and straightens it up, so you never have to edit the photo yourself.
The AI fills in the fields
Name, company, job title, phone, mobile, email, address and website each go in their own box. Anything that isn't on the card is left blank — it won't guess.
Saves into your phone's contacts
Your phone's usual new contact screen opens so you can check everything, and you get to choose which account it saves to.
Keeps the original photo
The photo goes into your gallery, and you can set it as that contact's picture, so you can always go back and check the card later.
Pick your own AI
Works with Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT and Anthropic Claude. Just use whichever one you already have a key for.
Works without a key too
Even before you get an AI key, scanning, cropping and manual entry all work fully. You just type the details in yourself.
Your data never touches us
Cards go straight from your phone to the AI service you signed up for. We run no server that stores your data.
Reads cards in any language
Not just English. Cards in other languages work too, and the app interface itself supports 36 languages.
How to get started
- Get your own free AI key (just follow the guide, about ten minutes)
- Open the app and paste the key into the settings page
- Photograph a card and wait for the AI to read it
- Check the details look right, then save to your contacts
Why you get your own key
This app has no server behind it, and it doesn't pay your AI bill for you. Using your own key means you deal with Google directly: nothing you scan passes through us, your usage and your billing stay in your own hands, and you can switch the key off in Google's console whenever you like. That is also why the app can be free and why there is no account to sign up for.
Common questions
Does it cost anything?
The app itself is free. The AI recognition runs on the Google key you get yourself, and Google includes a free allowance that everyday use usually stays within. If you do go past the free allowance, Google charges you for it directly.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no membership system. All you need is your own AI key.
Can you see the cards I scan?
No. The photo goes straight from your phone to the AI service you signed up for yourself, and we have no server that receives or stores any of it.
Where is the key kept?
In your phone's encrypted storage. On iOS it is set not to sync to iCloud and not to leave the phone in backups; on Android, cloud backup is switched off as well. If you change phones you'll need to enter it again.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
The confirmation screen before saving lets you edit any field. The AI does make mistakes, so give it a quick look before you save it to your contacts.
Do I have to use Google's AI?
Not necessarily. The app supports Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT and Anthropic Claude, so use whichever you have a key for. This guide uses Google Gemini as the example because it is the fastest to sign up for and has a free tier.
Where does the contact actually get saved?
Your phone opens its own new-contact screen, so you decide whether it goes to Google Contacts, stays on the device, or both.
